Ronnies Motors first opened its doors for business in 1948 on the site of the present Nahoon Garage. Ronnie Levy, the owner, obtained the Mercedes Benz franchise in 1955 and traded successfully until 1967.

The business was purchased by Granville West, an East Londoner, and Vernon Bembridge who ran the business together until Granville West passed away in 1975.

The Ronnies Motors Management team then purchased the shares and continued the business until 1989 at which stage the business was purchased by the Urquhart Motor Group.

In 1993 the dealership became a totally East London owned business once again when it was acquired by Tony Cotterell.
